Snow Day and a Live Nativity!

Yesterday was a snow day!  That's always the funnest surprise.  The school had canceled school early Thursday night, so we had the fun of staying up late Thursday, not making lunches (a dreaded chore by all of us), and celebrating our upcoming snow day.

Turned out it rained all day - only mildly cramping our snow day fun.  Logan and Bailey still played outside until they were good and soaked.  But our hill was sledded, snow balls were thrown, and a snowman taller than Bailey was made.

I took all the kids to get flu shots, which was loudly protested, on the grounds of not being in accordance with Snow Day fun - but alas, a mom can't turn down having all 4 kids with open schedules!   Everyone was super brave, and 20 minutes later, Snow Day fun was back on.

Friday night we headed out to Tyler's basketball game.  We were all so excited when he got in the last 4 minutes!   He was nervous to be put in, it was his first High School game, but it was fun to watch.

Afterwards, we journeyed from the school, to Bethlehem.  We donned snow pants, hats, gloves, coats, and boots to make our very cold and wet journey.

But it was worth it!

Every year I love a live nativity, but my take away is always how impressed I am with the people who put these things on. They set up elaborate settings, equipment, learn lines, and fashion costumes.  And that's the easy part!  Then they stand there for hours.  Snow, rain, and always cold, performing.  Their dedication is awesome to me.

We made it to Bethlehem!
Clyde, the camel, was there to meet us!
