School ... Here we come!

I can't believe how fast summer went this year.  This was the fastest yet.  We crammed in as much fun as we could - between swim team, swimming lessons, waterpark passes, tennis camp, golf pass for Ty, trips to Idaho Falls to see family, piano lessons, Tyler's birthday, Bailey's birthday, and girls camp for me - we had a blast.  I'm already missing the days of sleeping in, and having my kids home.  Until next year . . . when I will welcome summer back with open arms.

Our last day of summer breakfast - sending summer off in style!

The night before - backpacks laid out ... outfits chosen ...

Tyler - first one out the door.  On his way to 7th grade!

 Off he goes.

Next wave to go ...  love that these kids ride the bus together

 Emmy to 5th

Bailey to 2nd

Logan to kindergarten
How can he be in kindergarten??  He's my baby!

Logan in line outside his classroom - he was so excited!

Luckily, for moms, the first day of kindergarten starts with a parents meeting. So after Logan got on the bus, I drove to the school and met him there.  During the meeting, I heard one dad say to another day - both friends of ours, "Logan's the happiest one here" -   he was definitely ready for it to be his turn to go school.  After a short meeting, moms were told to beat it, so I left him there.  He was all smiles when I picked him up a 3 short hours later.
Every day when he comes home from school I say, "How was school?" he yells, "Easy!"

So far everyone is still happy and figuring out the ropes. Lots to be thankful for:  buses, lockers that open easily, good friends, and kind teachers.

Go Colts!

Logan is playing his first season of flag football.  He's playing with his 3 best buds - Carson, Crue, and Brock.  Derek is coaching - along with the other dads.  The first game he didn't get any flags, but the second game he got 2, so he's catching on.  It's been so fun to cheer him on!

Look at that stud!!

Happy Birthday Bailey!

How can it be?  My Bailey is 8!!  I can't believe it!

She started the day with our traditional treasure hunt to find her presents.
New bike for the 8 year old!

Then it was off to Build-a-Bear!  She had never been to Build-a-Bear before, and decided that's what she wanted to do with her birthday money from Grandma Sandy and Grandpa John.  This place is adorable, simply adorable.  She picked out a cute, white cat and named her Squeak.

Squeak's all done - and looking good!

Taking the new bike out for a spin.

Bailey wanted this beach cake.   I love it when my kids pick easy cakes like this.  The funniest part of this cake was the bon fire.  I was supposed to put all the candles together to make a bon fire on the beach.  Easy enough.  The recipe didn't mention, however, when you put 8 candles in the same square inch - you really get a real bon fire!  We sang "Happy Birthday" super fast, so she could blow out the candles before our poor beach dude's face melted off!  It was all quite reminiscent of Tyler's birthday cake a few years ago - pirate boat with paper sails - one should not light candles below paper sails.  Those sails went up in flames - and it's still our favorite cake because of it!

Happy birthday sweet Bailey!

Cutest Birthday Party

Bailey went to the cutest birthday party a few weeks ago - the cutest.  Every girl - and there were about a dozen(?) got to frost their very own princess cake!  My friend Robynn had made a ton of cakes and done a quick layer of frosting over each one.  After that it was up to the girls.  Robynn had tons of frosting colors - is those easy to use old school ketchup bottles (you know what I'm talking about?) and a ton of edible jewels.  The girls got to decorate to their hearts content.  It was the cutest thing.  Ever.  Bailey had the time of her life.

Of course a cake decorator needs an apron.

I loved everything about this party - and was so glad cute Bailey got to go!
